Staff Picks No. 128
MAJOR : Ogemdi Ude, Lambkin
New York Live Arts
January 7th-10th 2026
My first January festival pick of the year (s/o Live Artery), a show I’ve heard so many wonderful things about and finally have the chance to see for myself. Ogemi Ude explores the history of majorette dance, its origins in HBCUs, and the sexuality & sensuality in its many threads - I think this will be capital T Theatrical, this will be revelatory, I think we should all be flocking to see this show. Plus, songs by Lambkin!

Christmas in Nickyland is the gift that keeps on giving. If you have never been, oh christ on a crooked cross, do yourself a favor and go! If you have been, you know it will be a wild, weird, sweet time with surprises and treats and hopefully a little sloppiness. Maybe that is just me…
