Whoa. This promises to be exactly what a soul needs most in the spring - utter chaos (the delightful kind). I subscribe to Ike’s wonderful substack - 5 Boring Observations. That’s how I found out about this show and many other alluring things that are definitely not boring, like the observations.

Nun Play : Cricket Brown, Janice Amaya, Jess Barbagallo, Victoria Bartolotta, Kate Benson, Sydney Greenhill, Coco McNeil, Nifemi Ogunro, Eliut Ortiz, Dion Lamar Mills, Nifemi Ogunro, Allison Jones, Loren Yeoman, Alayna Nieters, Rasheed Griffith, Cori Matos Aguilera, Olivia Mermagen
Stone Circle Theatre
March 26th-28th 2026

I missed "Ulysses," so I'm excited to see the always-formidable Kate Benson take the stage in this new work by Cricket Brown, a performer who I now know also writes! Jess Barbagallo is also in the cast for this three-day run, and you know how I feel about three-day runs. (I'm coming.)

Staffer: Billy McEntee

I once saw a show Cricket directed wherein we were all packed into an unassuming venue and a horde of Hooters employees waited on us, performed, and then we all got a mass text that the world was ending and were were hoarded into the basement where even more antics ensued. There was group singing. I think people fell in love? So, uh, sign me up.

Staffer: Reuven Glezer

I hope Nun Play is SO packed out that they simply have to do it again so that I can go to the next run. This means, if you are within range, you have to go this show so that my wish can come true. I love Nun stuff, which is well known. And the team that has come together to do this Nun stuff is divine.

Meaghan Robichaud Is The Greatest Show On Earth : Meaghan Robichaud, Leigh Honigman, Emily Lawrence, Tessa Ramirez-Keough, Arin Edelstein, Forest Entsminger, Connor Sale, Emma Hasselbach, Alice Duffy
The Brick Theater
March 25th-28th 2026

The CW on the site is “nudity, male clowns”. I guess one really must just buy a ticket and come on out to decide whether or not Meaghan Robichaud is in fact the greatest show on earth. I mean, I trust that there will definitely be nudity. I am not sure I believe the male clowns part. I am certain I will experience things that are new to me, which feels like the greatest show on earth, per my personal taste in shows. I have had my ticket for weeks…

Baby Butcher Choke For Free : Leah Plante-Wiener, Eulàlia Comas, Jonathan Schatzberg, Robin Margolis, Jason Driver, Isa Nicdao

March 18th-21st 2026

laialeah make the noise I want to hear in the world. Mix in surgery, dinner, mayhem, surprise, a dash of nostalgia (for me)… I am ready. For what? I have no idea. Thank goodness.

Lunch Dances : Monica Bill Barnes & Company (Robbie Saenz de Viteri & Monica Bill Barnes)
NYPL's Stephen A. Schwarzman Building
Monday March 23rd 2026

Caveat: it is sold out but you can waitlist, which I recommend. I am sort of hilariously attuned to this one because it takes place…at my job. (If you did not know this, now you know). But! Monica Bill Barnes & Company are doing a fun, strange, weird thing and I’m happy it’s coming back for an encore run. However, if YOU, reader, pull any of this shit at my job whilst I am there…*throws EAST OF EDEN at you*

Various Small Whistles and a Song : Lia Kohl, Zachary Good
Public Records
Thursday March 12th 2026

Chicago cellist and sound explorer Lia Kohl performs material from her recent album "Various Small Whistles and a Song”, a delightful collection of treated and expanded field recordings of whistle sounds. People, trains, and penny whistles evoke place and the suggestion of story through an aimless (in a good way) musicality. Kohl is wildly smart and curious, with an open-hearted ear for humor and tender humanities; this will be a lovely night of sound. Brilliant clarinetist Zachary Good opens. Come through!

Staffer: Joshua Dumas

Single Family Home : William Sydney, John-Philip Faienza, Scott Gunner, Dan Hasse, Nathaniel Jameson, Paul Ketchum, Jack Langberg, Jake Lewtan, Robert Malbrough, Nathan Rtishchev, Mike Steele, Sven Stenroos, Walsh, Jacqueline Scaletta
JACK
March 26th-29th 2026

Respectfully, WTF? William Sydney making a show about his dad? This is the most normal thing I've ever heard about William doing therefore I know we are being lied to. Go forth, two weekends only.

Staffer: Reuven Glezer

I think Reuven knows something the website is not telling us, because I think it is only one weekend… but since I am shooting out prayers, I can do one for a two weekend run. Why not?! My big prayer is that my flight on the morning of the 26th gets delayed so that I can stay an extra night and go to this show. Changing the flight is too expensive. I already thought of that. But, times being what they are, I feel good about my chances of having a delayed flight. Anyway, isn’t this a great Staff Pick? Listen, I wish I could go to this show. What a wild group of people making William’s big dad play happen. I go to all of William’s shows. I do not want to miss this one. If my flight is not delayed, please FaceTime me in (I’m looking at you, Bobby…).

March 12th-April 4th 2026

As a person who’s had some of my deepest contemplations and wildest nights on roofs in Brooklyn, I am curious where this play will go. How different is an LA roof to a Brooklyn roof? How does a future unfold when projecting from a great height? RSVP to get the address!
